Budnar Homestead – Museum House

More than 350 years old, the Budnar House is a unique living museum in Zgornjih Palovčah above Kamnik, which offers a glimpse into the simple life of our ancestors. The homestead is most characterised by its black kitchen, which is still smoking today and from which come homemade delicacies that you can taste. The homestead is the venue for various events linked to the seasons, festivals and folk traditions. Guided tours are available all year round for groups who have booked, and there are also various tastings of country dishes and workshops, such as a bread-baking workshop called ‘Speci babičine dobrote’ (Grandmother’s Delicacies) or a ceramics workshop: ‘Pisker from the Black Kitchen’.
