Project description:
The CO-MOVE project is an international initiative that brings together five partners from three countries. The aim of the project is to provide mobility services tailored to local communities (social ride-sharing, on-demand transport, peer-to-peer initiatives, and other forms of shared mobility services) in order to improve accessibility in rural and peripheral areas by complementing and connecting existing public transport networks. Residents and stakeholders will be involved in the co-design and implementation of services, taking into account local needs, with a particular focus on vulnerable groups.
The project’s challenge is to ensure mobility accessibility and social inclusion for residents by both integrating traditional public transport networks with flexible transport services and supplementing them with peer-to-peer sharing options when economic constraints require greater involvement of residents and local stakeholders.
The project approach includes:
- Developing inclusive mobility communities based on a participatory model for community-level mobility services, in order to co-create new mobility concepts;
- Testing co-created innovative services in three pilot communities: in Slovenia, Hungary, and Italy;
- Promoting their implementation and scaling;
- Designing scenarios for their further development using breakthrough innovations (e.g., autonomous vehicles, mobility as a service, data-driven mobility planning).
