Lesarius combines the tangible and intangible heritage of the wood crafts and the forest and woodland world with an innovative 7-sensory approach. Wood is a key element that allows visitors of all ages to have an immersive experience of exploring and learning about the forest ecosystem and the people who live and work in harmony with it.

The 2-hour guided experience includes:
Museum workshop – visitors actively participate in woodworking and shaping with hand tools and learn about the traditions of seven woodworking masters (joiner, carpenter, barrel maker, wheelwright, carver, turner and wicker maker) with the help of augmented reality (AR Lesarius app).
Visit the tree nursery – learn about the rich heritage of Slovenian forests through the exhibition and collection of native tree species, find their tree guide and connect more deeply with trees.
Creating in the playroom – develop curiosity, playfulness and handling of this healing material in a fun and creative way with board and mind games made of wood.

The guided Lesarius experience can be enhanced with a presentation on how the Lesarius project came about or a lecture on the synergy between the forest, entrepreneurship and the local environment. There is also the possibility of a walk on the wooden pavement, a visit to the dendrological arboretum, the source of the Sopot River and the Sopotja Park in the village of Velika Preska, and a visit to the wooden organ in the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes in Polšnik.

The guided experience is available all year round for 7 to 10 people.
