The Štuc vineyard hike

For several years now, the Štuc Hike has been organised by the Štuc wine growers’ association ŠTUC Šmartno on the first Saturday in June. The trail, about 7 km long, leads from the fire house at Liberga through Preska nad Kostrevnico, between vineyards and numerous cottages and friendly people who serve hikers with excellent wine and even better grape drops.

It continues through the forest to Stara Gora and finally to Vinji vrh to the vineyard owner Jože Zadražnik. At the end of the walk, deserving wine growers receive certificates and diplomas from the association’s wine assessment and medals from the Cviček week. Throughout the whole route and at the end of the hike, there is a pleasant social event with accordion, wine from local vine-growers, meats from local larders and bread from bread ovens.
